Two new stories from ICCF

Story 1: Celebrating our Residents with Storehouse's Help:

ICCF’s partnership with Storehouse has helped our Resident Engagement Team to acquire essential household items for our residents, door prize incentives for empowerment events, and occasionally celebrations when our residents reach goals in their case management progress.

This month I would like to share a story about one of residents whom we were able to celebrate with items we picked up at the Storehouse.

Our Lead Bilingual Resident Advocate, Jasmin Guillen has been working with a resident in our La Grave development for several months now to help her increase her income. The resident has been working to increase her income and education. This month the resident completed her Alcohol Addiction counseling course and even secured a new job!

She was so excited to share with our team and we wanted to celebrate her but did not have a budget for these types of celebrations. Our team happened to shop at the Storehouse the following week and found a wonderful professional women's tote bag along with a calendar and planner. We were able to make this into a Career pack celebration gift bag. Upon receiving the career pack the resident was very excited and appreciative!.

Story 2: ICCF operates a 6 unit shelter for families experiencing homelessness at our Family Haven Shelter.

Our staff rely on donations and volunteers in the community to operate and turn housing units over, making them feel fresh and welcoming to new families. The Storehouse has become an AMAZING resource to supply the housing units with curtains, furniture, and home décor items to prepare for families who rest their head at Family Haven and call it home.

During our April and May shopping trips, Family Haven staff were able to pick up items to make our shelter feel like home.
