DHHS client appreciates protein powder from the StoreHouse

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, have recently been storing shelf-stable food boxes for after hour emergencies. When our protective services staff find a food emergency in a home that they visit after 5 PM or on weekends, they can come and grab a food box for the person/family in need. Thanks to The Storehouse, we have been able to also supplement the boxes with protein powder.

This past weekend, one of our workers brought out a food box and some protein powder and a tent to a client in need, who was homeless.

Of all of the items, she was most excited about the protein powder.

The tent wasn’t needed (as she was able to find one on her own), the food was appreciated and the protein powder was the item she was most excited about. The client had been worried about not getting enough protein and with this being shelf-stable and easy to make up, it was truly appreciated!
