Big Backpack Build
Each year, thousands of students across Kent County walk into their first day of school without the basic supplies they need to learn confidently.
The Big Backpack Build fights these barriers by mobilizing volunteers, businesses, schools and nonprofits to assemble and distribute thousands of backpacks filled with essential school supplies to the students in Kent County who need them most.
This year, the Big Backpack Build will impact 15,000 students. Backpacks will be assembled August 11, 2026 at DeVos Place.
